Cyanotype

This portrait was taken on traditional film and used in my cyanotype project. For this project, I had to first create a traditional print of the portrait. Then, I had to make a print on a giant piece of film and that was my positive. Next, I had to take the positive and put it over another piece of film and expose it to make the negative. I then coated cotton paper with the cyanotype chemical and put the negative on top of it. The cyanotype chemical develops with uv light, so I put it on the uv light table where is was exposed for 40 minutes.

Ego

Class-Adv. Graphics:
This assignment is a quick project we did in class. While creating our "alter ego" there were only a few things we could use which were magazines, tissue paper, and chalk pastels.

Digital Landscape

Class- Adv. Photography:
For this assignment, we had to take photos of landscapes using no larger than a 5.6 f stop. Both of these pictures were taken on a Nikon D3000 camera and then edited in PhotoShop. More photos for this series are coming soon!!

Double Exposure

Class- Adv. Photography:
The original challenge of this assignment was to create a double exposure using a Holga camera. But after having 3 failed attempts with the Holga camera, I scanned in a traditional film portrait and created a double exposure with a digital landscape.

Out of This World

Class- Adv. Graphic Design
The assignment of this project was to create a surrealism atmosphere that had 5 elements of the school included in it. To create this, I took pictures and then put them in Photoshop and altered them by adjusting the levels, warping, and burning.

Digital Landscape

Class- Adv. Photography
This picture was used for the digital landscape assignment. This picture was taken using a Nikon D3000 digital camera and then uploaded into Photoshop. This picture was cropped down a lot and the corners of the sky were burned so they did not appear to be blown out.

Holga Print

Class- Adv. Photography
The assignment for this project was to use a Holga camera to produce an image. A tripod was used while taking the pictures. The film was developed and printed. Then the final print was scanned into Photoshop and the levels were adjusted and the corners were burned.

Framed View

Class- Adv. Photography
The assignment for this picture was framed view. So, I used my kitchen window to fulfill this assignment. While taking this photo, I had to use a tripod because the flash needed to be turned off. After the picture was taken, it was put into Photoshop where I cropped and adjusted the levels. I also burned the corners and the of the photo.

Confined

Class- Adv. Photography
The assignment for these photos was "confined". The term confined means "to restrain: to close within bounds". I expressed this in my photos because in the first picture, she is closed within the bounds of herself. In the second photo, she is closed behind an object hiding. These photos were taken with a Nikon D3000 digital camera and put into Photoshop. In Photoshop, these pictures were cropped and altered.

Talent Unlimited Magazine Cover

Class- Adv. Graphic Design
For this assignment, I had to make a magazine cover for Talent Unlimited. We were asked to use our mandala and alter it to make a cover. I did this by using Photoshop and adjusting the size and color of each mandala.

Mandala

Class- Adv. Graphic Design
The assignment for this project was to create a mandala. The mandala was created using magazine pieces and glue. There were only a few requirements to follow while doing this assignment. For example, it was mandatory to have at least the first three rings filled in and also, the pieces on the outside of the rings had to appear to be "dissolving".

Texture

Class- Adv. Photography
The picture of the flower was chosen for the texture assignment because the water beads on the flower give it texture and the solid black back round brings all the textures together. This photo was taken with a Nikon D3000 digital camera with a 18-55 mm lens. It was downloaded and put into Photoshop. In Photoshop, the picture was slightly cropped and the levels and colors were adjusted to make the flower appear more purple.

Pattern

Class- Adv. Photography
This picture was chosen for the pattern assignment because of the patterns on the leaves and branches.  I think that the two different patterns bring the picture together. This photo was taken with a Nikon D3000 digital camera with an 18-55 mm lens.  The picture was put into Photoshop where it was cropped and the levels were adjusted.

Shadow

Class- Adv. Photography
This project's assignment was shadow. In Photo 1, we had this assignment to do using film but now in Photo 2, we used a digital camera. This picture is a good example of shadow because there is a big contrast between the shadow and the stairs so the shadow pops. A digital camera was used to take this picture, then it was put into Photoshop. In Photoshop, I cropped the picture, adjusted the levels, and made many layers.

Self Portrait

Class- Adv. Photography
The assignment for this project was a conceptual self portrait. I chose the cat to represent myself because the eyes looked fierce and that what I wanted the picture to be about. The picture was taken on a Nikon D3000 digital camera and put into Photoshop where it was cropped and the levels were adjusted.

Plant Series

Class: Adv. Photography
The assignment for this project was to produce a series. The topic of the series was up to the photographer, so I chose plants. I chose plans because the series was being taken during the fall when the leaves were at their peak time. A digital camera was used to take these pictures then they were cropped and altered in Photoshop.

Echoes Series

Class- Adv. Photography
The assignment for this project was "Echoes". The interpretation of the word was up to the photographer, so I choose scenes of the lake. I felt like this represented echoes literally because noises echo off the lake. These pictures were taken with a Nikon D3000 digital camera and then altered and cropped in Photoshop.

Alphabet

Class- Adv. Graphics
This project was done quickly in class. We were timed to write the alphabet on the paper in any way we wanted and using any colors we wanted. Then we were told to write words describing how we felt when we work up that morning. I'm always late getting up in the morning so I felt emphasizing the word "late" would be appropriate. This drawing was then scanned into the computer and the levels were altered in Photoshop.

Hi...
